SIDE RING

FOR THE SEAL

The outer flange that seats against the lock ring and holds tire pressure across millions of cycles of shock loading. Forged from the same alloy as the rim base so the wheel-end expands and contracts as a single thermal system. Five styles in production — WTR for the largest haul trucks, three 57" variants for mid-size fleets, and a 51" for the next class down.

FIVE THINGS WE WON'T COMPROMISE ON

The five process disciplines that separate a Kelios rim from a commodity wheel.

6.1

FORGED FROM RIM-BASE STOCK

Side rings are forged from the same billet stock and alloy as the rim base they mate with. When the wheel-end heats up under brake load, the side ring and rim base expand together — no relative slip at the seat, no fatigue concentration at the bead.

6.2

MACHINED SEAT PROFILE

The lock-ring seat is finish-machined within ±0.05 mm of master, not flame-cut to rough tolerance. Correct profile is what keeps the lock ring captive at low tire pressure on a hot pit road.

6.3

TYPE-II ANODIZE + SEAL

Anodized then sealed for 2 000 h salt-spray resistance. The bead-facing surface stays smooth — micro-corrosion at the bead is what destroys tire beads, not the road.

6.4

PRESSURE-TESTED PAIR

Mated rim-base + side-ring + lock-ring assemblies are pressure-tested to 1.8× operating pressure before shipping. The whole assembly travels as a serial-matched unit.

6.5

FIVE OEM PROFILES

WTR for 63" Tier-1 haul fleets, three 57" variants for Komatsu / Cat / Belaz / Hitachi mid-size, and a 51" for the next class down. Custom OEM profiles engineered on request — 12 week lead.

FORGED FLANGE

Closed-die forged from the same billet stock as the rim base it pairs with.

02

SEAT PROFILE

Finish-machined to match the lock-ring seat within ±0.05 mm.

03

ANODIZE + SEAL

Type-II hardcoat anodize, 2 000 h salt-spray resistance.
