3.1

HSLA STEEL + STRESS RELIEF

Critical components are forged from high-strength low-alloy steel and quality carbon structural steel grades certified to BS / ISO 4250-3, AS 4457.1, and GB/T 2883. Where some manufacturers skip stress relief to save cost, Kelios normalizes every critical component and runs an in-house electric-furnace stress relief on every rim — guaranteeing maximum fatigue life under continuous shock loading.

PATENTED HOT-COILED LOCK RINGS

The lock ring is the single most safety-critical component in an OTR wheel assembly. Lock-ring failures have caused fatalities in pits around the world. Kelios manufactures lock rings under a patented hot-coiling process (Patent No. ZL200910187953.2) that delivers continuous elasticity, stable strength, and favorable residual compressive stress — a 100% safety factor at 200 pcs / day throughput. Zero safety incidents in 10 years of field deployment.

SEAMLESS RING-ROLLED FORGINGS

For 20+ years Kelios has insisted on full-height, security-verified seamless ring-rolled forgings for every critical component. We have never reduced forging height to save cost, and we have never substituted welded steel plate for a forged ring. The forging height is the safety factor.

3.4

CNC-MACHINED CRITICAL SURFACES

Lock-ring groove, bead mating surface, and seal-ring groove are all CNC-machined on every rim. Over 100 sets of CNC machining, heat treatment, automatic welding, and cutting equipment ensure rapid throughput without compromising tolerance. Correct assembly, stable pressure distribution, and uncompromised sealing add up to maximum fatigue life.

SUBMERGED ARC WELDING + 100% UT

20 years of inherited submerged-arc welding process knowledge with 100% UT Grade II inspection on every weld — no shop-floor concession is allowed to slip through. Each weld is digitally logged against the rim serial; certificates ship with the order.

Seamless ring-rolled forging at full security-verified height. No welds in the load path.

NORMALIZE + STRESS RELIEF

Full normalizing followed by in-house electric-furnace stress relief on every critical component.

100+ machines hold lock-ring groove, mating surface, and seal-ring groove to ±0.05 mm.

Submerged arc welding then 100% UT Grade II inspection on every weld, every rim.
